A resilient 17-year-old girl who triumphed over the challenges of teenage pregnancy. Her story came to light when she sought a hospital for an abortion. Through collaborative efforts with our partners at DSW, She was provided a shelter for nearly a month. During this time, our Bajen and social worker engaged in delicate counselling sessions with her parents, aiming to bridge the gap created by her mothers initial threatening reaction upon learning about the pregnancy. Throughout her stay in the shelter, PFI team including Bajen Amie conducted numerous visits, offering essential psychosocial support. Recognising the difficulty her parents, particularly her mother, we undertook three home visits. After persistent engagement and heartfelt conversations, we successfully persuaded her parents to embrace her, culminating in a joyous reunion with her family.
A philanthropic organisation, extended generosity by donating essential baby items for the survivors son. Our ongoing commitment led to regular follow-ups, focusing on the dynamics of her evolving relationship with her mother. Additionally, Bajen Amie played a pivotal role in enrolling her in a skill training center, where she currently pursues a course in hotel management. This story serves as an inspiring example of triumph over difficulties, highlighting the power of intervention and the possibilities that arise when communities unite to uplift and support those in need.
