It is a WORLDWIDE Campaign to OPPOSE VIOLENCE against WOMEN and CHILDREN
It aims to raise awareness of the NEGATIVE impact that VIOLENCE and ABUSE have on WOMEN and CHILDREN and to RID society of ABUSE PERMANENTLY.
This year's 16 Day of Activism focuses on Domestic Violence which is prevalent here in The Gambia, so we joined forces with other CSO's as a consortium to come up with this years National Theme; "From awareness to Action! Uniting communities to end GBV in The Gambia".
The 16 Day commenced with a National launching of the "16 days of Activism" at the Governor`s Office in Brikama, West Coast Region, where various dignitaries were in attendance and spoke about the severity of the issue and our need for action to try eliminate Gender Based Violence in The Gambia.
During the course of the 16 Days, there will be various activities that will be carried out in these days of robust activism. We are all looking forward to the success of the 16 Day of Activism.
